Inclusive ElderCare · PLWD

Every elder and person living with disability deserves to be seen.

Frames, hearing support, inclusive day places, and caregivers who understand stroke, dementia, and mobility — because dignity should never depend on what a family can afford.

Caregiver supporting an elder with mobility needs

Built for ability, not apology.

From the first nurse visit, we plan for wheels, words, and memory — so families stop carrying shame alongside exhaustion.

Whole-person assessments

Mobility, hearing, vision, and memory documented before care starts.

Mobility & assistive fund

Frames, rails, ramps, and hearing support when families cannot pay.

Communication that includes

Visual cues, large print, and seating where every elder belongs.

Disability-aware caregivers

Safe transfers, dementia communication, and nurse escalation.

Home, day & residential — all inclusive.

The same commitment runs through every ElderCare service. Learn more about each pathway below.

Home

Home-based care

Stroke recovery, safe transfers, and walking frames when sunlight matters again.

Step-free routes, visual schedules, and friends for elders with hearing loss.

Lives you help unlock.

Home care · Kisumu

After the stroke, Mama Akinyi could not turn in bed without help. Our caregiver learned her hand signals when speech tired; our nurse ordered a walking frame. She sits outside on good days again.

Family member · names changed for dignity

Day care · Homa Bay

Baba Otieno had stopped answering the door. Written meal cues and a seat near the facilitator brought him back to a table of friends — the first shared meal in two years.

Day-care family · permission granted

Residential · Kisumu

Grace's children had rotated nights for months. Same key worker, photographs on the wall, meals at her pace — her son visits without dread now.

Family member · names changed

Outreach · Siaya

Two elders used sticks carved from branches because they could not afford frames. Within a fortnight, both were on subsidised home-care plans built for disability needs.

Questions families ask

How is inclusive PLWD care funded?

Through ElderCare fees where families can pay, plus donor support via our Give page and Inclusive Care & Mobility Fund for equipment and subsidies.

Can you support wheelchair users or hearing loss?

Yes — assessments cover mobility and sensory needs, and our Inclusive Care & Mobility Fund closes equipment gaps families cannot afford.

How do I request care (not give)?

Contact us and choose “Inclusive care (disability support).” We respond within one working day.

Ready to talk about care?

Tell us about your loved one — mobility, hearing, memory, or anything on your mind. Our care team will respond within one working day.
