A pilot intergenerational sport and play event in the heart of Eldoret City, co-hosted with Moi University. The event model aligns with the International Generational Games Association of Switzerland — stimulating positive interaction across all ages, promoting healthy ageing, tackling ageism, and contributing to multiple UN SDGs.

1 October 2026 · Nairobi City · 2nd Edition · IDOP Week
The 2nd Edition returns to Nairobi City for the second consecutive year. Delegates are expected from 7 nations: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Burundi, Rwanda & South Sudan. This advocacy event features football legends aged 60 years and older — tackling ageism, challenging prejudice against older persons, and dismantling ageing stereotypes through the universal language of football.

A year-end community celebration targeting the festive season — when most families are on vacation and visiting their rural relatives. The event is specifically aimed at appreciating the role of seniors in Kenyan communities, strengthening family bonds, and celebrating the wisdom and cultural heritage that elders carry and pass to younger generations.

From the Frontlines of Joy
The truest measure of our work lives in the voices of those we serve. Hear from elders who competed, youth who volunteered, and families transformed.
I have not run since 1979. When AgeWatch put those running shoes on my feet and lined me up at the Silver Sprint, I wept before the gun even fired. Not from fear — from gratitude. My grandchildren watched from the stands. That day, I was no longer just their old grandmother. I was an athlete again.
Caddying at Legends on the Green changed how I see old age entirely. Mr. Kamau, 78, gave me the best advice on patience I have ever received — between his second and third hole. Volunteering with AgeWatch is the most human thing I have done in my life.
The Heritage Cultural Games Day brought back songs I had not sung in forty years. Watching the young people learn our dances with such earnestness — that is not just entertainment. That is preservation. AgeWatch gave us back our relevance.
We sponsored the venue for IDOP Legends 2025 and our team attended. I have funded many initiatives, but I have never seen a crowd erupt the way they did when a 79-year-old sank a putt on the 9th green. The ROI of joy is immeasurable. We are sponsoring again in 2026 — and bringing our board.
I study nursing and I used to see elderly patients as cases to manage. Then I volunteered at the Wellness Marathon. Running beside Baba Ogolla at 6 AM, both of us laughing — I understood human dignity in a way no textbook taught me.
At 74, I played tennis at the Intergenerational Classic. My partner was 22. We lost in the second round — but we laughed so loudly the whole stadium turned to look. I have not felt that alive in a decade. AgeWatch does not just serve elders. They restore us.
